Certification Courses

PPM
Practical Pool Management is a two-day workshop designed to teach you the basics of operating and managing a swimming pool. Become certified as a pool operator after successful completion of this course.

Don't be confused . . .

by other pool operator programs that use this text!  Only Practical Pool Management and Practical Pool Management Plus are taught by textbook author Dr.  Tom Griffiths and editor/contributing author Attorney Shawn DeRosa!

The Practical Pool Management Plus  workshop is a fast-paced two-day pool operator certification program which provides an in-depth analysis of the most important topics in pool operations, maintenance and safety including circulation, filtration, chemistry, safety and risk management.  Participants who pass the written exam with a minimum score of  70% will receive a certificate suitable for framing and will be entered into a database of pool managers certified through Aquatic Safety Research Group, LLC. Certification must be renewed every five years.

This program is specifically designed to meet or exceed pool operator training requirements for all 50 states and includes information on international standards for public pool operations.

Practical Pool Management Plus  is designed for anyone operating a public or semi-public pool or waterpark facility including aquatic directors, pool maintenance staff, hotel/motel staff, and others in the "pool business."

This state-of-the-art workshop incorporates multimedia technologies to enhance the learning process.

Developed and taught by the author and editor of The Complete Swimming Pool Reference (2nd Edition),  Practical Pool Management Plus  moves beyond traditional calculations and mathematics to provide the pool operator or manager not only the basics of pool operations but also a comprehensive look at managing an aquatic facility.

The Second Edition is now bigger and better than ever and combines technical aspects of pool operations manuals with practical information of water safety texts.

Using The Complete Swimming Pool Reference (2nd Edition) as a foundation for the course, practical tips and principles not found in other sources are discussed.
